Maine NENA

Fostering the technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1).

Our Vision

MENENA serves the public safety community as the only professional organization in Maine dedicated exclusively to 9-1-1 policy, technology, operations, and education. Our mission is to support the advancement, implementation, and awareness of 9-1-1 systems and three-digit emergency communications worldwide.

We work alongside public policy leaders, emergency service providers, telecommunications partners, public safety associations, and other key stakeholders to develop programs and initiatives that strengthen emergency communications in Maine. Through collaboration, advocacy, and professional development, MENENA helps ensure that every community benefits from a reliable, modern, and effective 9-1-1 system.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team

The Maine NENA Chapter is proud to support the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team, a dedicated group of trained peers who provide wellness support and crisis intervention for Telecommunicators across the state. While many Police and Fire Departments maintain their own teams, dispatchers often benefit most from speaking with peers who understand the unique demands of emergency communications. The CISM Team offers that specialized support, ensuring Maine’s dispatch professionals have access to compassionate, informed assistance when they need it most.
